Ashoura 2020 - Live Majlis Links
Despite the current circumstances we are encountering as a result of COVID-19, we hope you will all be able to benefit from the upcoming days as usual, if not more. We stress the importance for each individual to work towards maintaining the memory of Imam Hussain (AS) and Karbala alive during these days and nights, especially if local protocols limit or do not allow for in-person majalis. You can do so in many ways and contribute based on your own capabilities, interests, and strengths. Examples of how this can be done include dressing in black, hanging banners in your home, contributing through your social media accounts, composing eulogies, educating yourself on the personalities, lessons, and events of Karbala, and so on. Most importantly, however, it is important that we partake in mourning events and similar practices of remembrance. Find out if your local community is organizing one, but if not, there are many easily accessible virtual majalis being live-streamed around the world. Below are a few suggestions for nightly commemorations based on Eastern Time. This time around, every house will be a Hussainiya!
There are also videos available specifically for children. Many programs also have a kids program; those below are just some suggestions:
